Sons of Italy Events
* A bake sale will take place at the Sons
of Italy Lodge on Sunday, May 2 from 4:00 –
5:30, the entire proceeds of which will support
our projects with the Seacoast Youth Academy.
This is a residential facility for children ages
6 to 16 who are not able to live at home, and we
have “adopted” the children. Every single month
we throw a birthday party for that months’
celebrants; we provided Easter Baskets for every
single child last month, and at Christmas we
threw a Spaghetti Dinner at the lodge for the
kids, complete with Christmas presents for each
one, and a surprise visit from Santa. We have
also donated bicycles etc. We are very proud and
committed to supporting this residential
facility throughout the entire year, and the
bake sale will help fund some of our projects.
We are looking to purchase sports equipment for
the kids from the proceeds of the Bake Sale. If
this could be listed in the May issue (assuming
it comes out by May 1) it would be great!
* The Sons of
Italy
will also be holding a fund raiser auction on
Sunday, June 6 at their lodge off Hwy. 707 on
the south end of Myrtle Beach. Live music under
the tents will add to the festivities. Again,
details could be provided if there is a way to
get this mentioned in the May and June magazine.
* The Sons of
Italy
will be holding a golf tournament at Prestwick
Country Club on Saturday, June 26 with a part of
the proceeds going to the Myrtle Beach Community
Kitchen. To date, we have donated almost $25,000
to this organization which provides free meals
to the homeless and needy residents of
Myrtle Beach.
The cost is $90 which includes lunch, golf,
AND awards dinner.
